Entering in products (stock) is very easy and straight forward. SalesPoint makes it easy to track all of your stock levels and all product information.
1. Log into the administration screen.
2. Select the product tab.
3. Press "add" to add a new products.
You can use the "import" function to quickly and easily import products from a CSV file.
Information
Name
This is the display name of the product which will be shown on screen and printed on the receipt.
Code
This is the barcode or PLU for the product. Put multiple codes on its own line. Use the "Generate Random Barcode" if you don't have a code.
Description
Short decription for your product.
Types
Types allow you to have multiple options when selling a product e.g. Small/Medium/Large. Put each type of the product on its own line. To add to the price of the product add "+amount" at the end of the line Large +1.50.
Picture
Press the product picture to add, remove or modify the product picture.
Category
Select the category of the product from this. If you don't have categories you must add them from the "Categories" tab under "Products" in the administration screen.
Supplier
Select the product supplier. If you don't have suppliers you must add them from the "Suppliers" tab under "Products" in the administration screen.
Price
Retail
Enter in the price for which the prouct will retail at. Press the calculator button to calcuate this based on cost price
Cost
Enter in the price prouct is purchased at.
Wholesale
Enter in the price prouct will wholesale at.
Stock Level
Track
Decides whether or not stock level is tracked, that is, when a sale is made then the stock level will decrease automatically. This must be enabled to use stock reporting.
Measurement
Select how your stock is measured.
Main Store
The stock level for the main store.
Add multiple stores to track stock level across multiple stores.
Settings
Show on sales screen
If enabled, the product will show on the sales screen as a quick-action button.
Discontinued
When the product is discountinued it will no longer be able to be sold.
Kitchen print order
When the product is sold, it will be sent to the kitchen printer if this is enabled.
Enter quantity on scan
When a product is scanned the staff member will be asked to enter in the quantity sold, otherwise one will automatically be added.
Enter price on scan
When a product is scanned the staff member will be asked to enter in the price of each item, otherwise the retail price will automatically be used.
Barcode embeds price
Used in a grocery situation where the barcode is the PLU and price.
Can have multiple types
Using the product types, the product can have more than one type. Usually used in a hospitality situation when a drink can have multiple options e.g. medium and soy. When the product is scanned or selected the staff member will be prompted to select which types are added.
