Set up a card reader (Windows)

SalesPoint allows you to use almost any card reader.

The card reader must be configured to be in HID mode and send a new line after a completed read. Please consult with your reader user manual to set this up if it isn't already.

You can test this by opening notepad and reading a card. The result should be:

1. From the sign in screen, press the hardware setup button (outlined in red below)

2. From the tabs on the left select 'Peripherals'

3. Next to 'HID card reader' press 'Select'

4. Read a card with the card reader.
